The vaccine was for 31 days at a temperature of 2-8 ° C

“This change extends the approved shelf life of an unopened vial thawed at a temperature of 2-8 ° C (i.e. in a regular refrigerator) from five days to one month (31 days). The change was approved after evaluating additional data from stability studies. The increased flexibility in storing and handling the vaccine is expected to have a major impact on planning and logistics for the introduction of the vaccine in European Union member states.

Information about the EMA announcement on Twitter was provided by, among others, Professor Krzysztof Pyrć, a virologist from the Małopolska Center for Biotechnology at Jagiellonian University.
