The Polish delegation participating in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has been detected infected with the Coronavirus – the organizer of this event, the European Broadcasting Union, reported on Saturday. Consequently, not the entire delegation, including the Polish candidate, Rafael Przuzovsky, will not be able to participate in the opening ceremony tomorrow.
A member of the Polish team, who has not been named, tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. This means that all Poles have been isolated.
The Eurovision Song Contest will officially start on Sunday evening in Rotterdam.
“Our ultimate goal is to make the event completely safe from Covid-19, and the health of all participants, people working at the event and the audience is our priority,” – the organizers said in the statement.
Brzozowski’s live performance at Eurovision 2021 will be based on the results of the PCR tests that the Polish delegation will undergo in the coming days.
